High Performance Computing in Egypt LINKSCEEM User Meeting Nile University, 28 January 2010

This Meeting is co-organized by the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC) of the Cyprus Institute (CyI) and Nile University (NU). The meeting aims at bringing together current or potential high-performance computing users and providers within the Egyptian scientific community and HPC experts from Europe and US. It also provides a forum for exploring the available HPC infrastructures in the region, and the ways they currently serve their user communities. It also aims at introducing the LinkSCEEM project and laying the foundations of a user community around the planned HPC facility of the Cyprus Institute's CaSToRC center, http://www.linksceem.eu.

The meeting will include presentations from representatives of CaSToRC, LinkSCEEM and local scientific institutions. Current and potential HPC users will present their work and projects, and the related computational needs. The meeting will conclude with a round-table discussion that will focus on the required computational resources and connectivity. A demo-session will be also held to encourage students using HPC resources.
